I will never, ever not be mad at PJ for messing with Faramir. He is one of my favorite people in Middle Earth, my biggest literary crush, with little enough story that I could embellish him in my daydreams. My daydreams have this critical aspect that they must adhere to the character as presented by the author. Peter and Fiona f*cked with a critical core of Faramir. They made this good, intelligent guy - the park ranger, the wizard’s pupil, one of only three characters to not be tempted by the One Ring - into just another Ring-drunk. Faramir is a great character, flawed, talented, guilt-ridden, humane. (And I don’t buy into the notion that Faramir is Ring-proofed by some Numenorian/Midichlorian genetics…)
I have come, more or less, to terms with movie Faramir but I was also one of those people who loved loved him in the books and was soooo disappointed in the Two Towers when he did the hobbits dirty like that. So I feel you!!! (I am also still mad about the short shrift given to the Faramir/Eowyn romance.)
Great, now I gotta add "Watch Baby Reindeer" to my to-do list. Will the demands of 21st-century life never end? Looking forward to your thoughts on The Klumps and Hook!
Ooooh +1 for Hook!!! I loved that movie so much as a kid probably mostly because I had a huge crush on Rufio. No idea if it's aged well or poorly but seeing it through the Butt News lens would be amazing *chef's kiss* <3
HOOK, HOOK, GIVE US THE HOOK
HOOK, HOOK, WHERE IS THE HOOK
Cutting Edge please! And I just finished this show Sunday night and am still mulling over it.
Cruel Intentions please!
hook today, hook tomorrow, hook forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! always thinking about the fake/real food fight! ALWAYS!
Hook would be great but also if you just wanted to do Fellowship of the Ring a second time, I wouldn't be mad about it.
I need to do Two Towers!!!
I do require your thoughts on Faramir

RUFIOOO! Sorry my brain forever requires that I hear it that way
YESSSS FOR HOOK! Fingies crossed.
Loved hearing you and Guy discuss Baby Reindeer, which I also enjoyed and felt complicated feelings about but never could have articulated so well.
Would you please do Gremlins 2 someday?!
BANGARANG!!!! (That’s a ‘yes’ vote from me for Hook.)
Butt News does hook is the most exciting thing I’ve ever heard tbh!
Hook, please!
And a request for Willow! I feel like you’ve talked about that movie somewhere?
I actually rewatched recently and thought it held up surprisingly well. Not the special effects but the overall experience
