Lindy, I really miss Butt News! I look forward to checking the movie out of the library where I work on Friday afternoon, and watching it over the weekend, cackling with friends. We miss you and hope it returns soon! Thank you for doing it - it brings us so much joy!
I hear what you're saying. But I still ... love it? Can't stop watching it? Know what happens and still continue to switch back to it if it's on tv (and I'm at my dad's house still has regular TV like the boomer he is)?
I used to go to this coffee shop that had a tip jar that said, cheekily, "every dollar brings Nicolas Cage a day closer to retirement." I didn't get? So, I asked a cashier one day. Turns out it was her idea. She spent literally like three whole minutes just ranting ANGRILY about Cage. As someone who mainly knows him from Moonstruck and Raising Arizona, I was truly flummoxed. But after reading this review, I understand.
Just bc I rarely have a reason to share this… Freshman year of college I was on an MTV show called 12 Angry Viewers where we spent 5 episodes as jurors judging music videos (I’d guess there’s only 12 people who even remember this was a show) and a young Justin Bartha from NYU was one of my fellow jurors. The one that got away!
Anyway… am I a bad person for putting this in my list of top 5 movies I will always stop and watch when it is airing on cable? History, mystery, Nic Cage, and Philly!
I am coming here soooo late bc I feel the need to share that I volunteered in my son's classroom today and a very sweet second grade girl told me that her favorite movies were Spy Kids... and National Treasure. I was so delighted and confused. When my son asked her to tell him what National Treasure is about she absolutely could not do it but it was also clear she'd definitely seen it. Which tracks?
Just here to say that re-reading these butts is my interstitial break from constantly refreshing Al-Jazeera's live feed and watching g*nocide in real time. In case you were wondering, you've still got it! these are making me laugh for a few minutes out of the day, and I thank you for that. "I’ve read like 19 articles about Bobby Flay since then! The data has been overwritten!" - what a banger, can't believe I missed that the first time around.
Is it too much to ask that you also review the second one?
There is a SECOND ONE????
BOOK OF SECRETS! 😎
OMG I vaguely remember hearing that name now! I definitely need to look this up!!

“This movie is a part of a chain of events that led to white conservatives refusing vaccines.”
